About Enzo

Enzo De Palma is a writer and musician based in Los Angeles, CA.

As a writer, Enzo has a passion for comic books, science fiction and critical exploration of the identity of America. His debut graphic novel, Manhattan: Manhunt, with artists Diego Albuquerque and Joshua “Sway” Swaby, is available now. Enzo is also constantly working on other graphic novels, comic book series, novels, short stories and screenplays. A comic book fan from a young age, he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Novel Writing from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where he studied under comic book writer and novelist Clay McLeod Chapman.

As a musician, Enzo started piano lessons at eight years old and studied with some of the best of the Los Angeles jazz scene. He has added more instruments to his repertoire over the years and now plays a total of sixteen, including mandolin, bass, other guitar instruments, various horns, and drums. He plays, composes and arranges in many different styles, including jazz, R&B, funk, bluegrass, folk, rock, pop, and classical. He is currently the mandolinist for his folk band, Corporate Bike Culture, the keyboardist in his rock band, Margo’s Bench, and the keyboardist in children’s band The Hat Ladies.

Enzo has played piano, banjo and mandolin with country singer-songwriter Jeddy Knox, mandolin with the Silver Mountain String Band, guitar and mandolin with pop singer-songwriter Em Beihold, electric bass and keyboard with R&B singer-songwriter Mack Keane, electric bass with indie-rock band Mons Vi, and keyboard with his alt-rock band Jack the Bear (who released their self-titled EP in 2021). He was also named first trumpet to CAIS' Honor Band in 2014 and has played with many other LA-based musicians, including electric guitar and trombone with punk/rock band No Small Children, keyboard with alt-rock singer/songwriter Von Thrasher, piano with jazz saxophonist Ari Silberman, electric bass and mandolin with R&B singer/producer j.mulay, and banjo with TV theme song cover band The Remotes, and he frequently plays jazz and bluegrass all around Southern California. He wrote and recorded the theme song for the Biographers International Organization's podcast, Bio, and his original music has been heard on the webseries Deborah Kobylt Live and the author interview series Live Talks Los Angeles. He has also played in several off-Broadway musicals, including 1989: A Musical Play (2016) and The Swashbuckling Sisters and the Story of the Seven Seas (2018), and plays at Huron Station Playhouse. Enzo’s music has appeared in Mary J. Blige’s Family Affair (2025) and Mary J. Blige Presents Be Happy (2026). He currently teaches music at Los Encinos School and is a music faculty member of Oakwood Summer Program's Exploratorium.

Enzo founded 488 Studios in 2022. 488 Comics released his graphic novel Manhattan: Manhunt; 488 Music released Corporate Bike Culture’s album and will release Enzo’s forthcoming debut solo album.
